It’s Never too Early...

It’s Never too Early...

When did you come to Christ as Savior? If the studies that have been made regarding this question are accurate, it is very likely that you did so before the age of 18. That being the case and even more important, considering the fact that both the Old and New Testament Scriptures teach that children are to be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, it is only right that the BBN Bible Institute offer an entire division of study for teens!

Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 6:6-7: “And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” Also, Solomon wrote, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them…” (Ecclesiastes 12:1: ). In the New Testament, Paul wrote, “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Eph.6:4). So we are certainly on Scriptural ground when we seek to teach our young people the Word of God! Historically, some of our greatest Bible teachers and preachers as well as missionaries and those used of God in everyday life have come to Christ at an early age. Corrie ten Boom placed her faith in the Lord Jesus as Savior at the tender age of 5, and Charles Spurgeon, after a long time of feeling strong conviction and desire to know how to have his sins forgiven, finally clearly heard the Gospel and believed in Christ at the age of 16. Of course we are also thankful for those who come to Christ at any age! Yet the Scriptural exhortation to bring up our young people under the sound of the Gospel remains, and we at the BBN Bible Institute offer such courses in our Teen Division of study as It All Starts With A Relationship, What’s So Great About God and Pathway To Purity among others. One doesn’t have to be a teen to profit from these courses, many adults have studied them as well, with reports of great encouragement and enlightenment from God’s Word coming to us! So, whether you are a young person, or you have young people in your family or you would just like to share the BBN Bible Institute with someone, go to www.BBNBI.org and give the Teen Division a look! May the Lord bless you.
