How Are Communications in Your Home

How Are

Communications

In Your Home?

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the truck, the car, playing golf - always something more important. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I summed up the situation in a few seconds and without a word went into the house. I was gone for only a minute, and when I emerged I handed her a toothbrush.

With a puzzled look she asked, “What’s this for?”

“When you finish cutting the grass, please sweep the driveway,” I replied with a straight face.

The doctors say I will walk again, but I will likely always have a limp.

Seriously, communication between husband and wife is a language of signals as well as words: miss the words or the signals and life can become unpleasant.

How are communications in your home? Far more often than not, the wife is more concerned about communication than is her husband. Husband, if you think all is well with communications in your home, you have probably missed the signals.

God’s Word has much to say about communication in the home. Dr. Mark Lee shares valuable, necessary insight on how to improve communications in your family setting. His humorous style will keep your attention, but the truths he conveys may be a marriage saver for you or someone you care about. Whether you are a husband or a wife (or hope to be in the future), why not make Course # 20800, Communications in the Family, your next course of study?
