The Same Thing But Different

The Same Thing But Different
Kevin was seated on a sidewalk with his cardboard sign which read, “I’m blind, need help,” he
also had his cup strategically positioned so people would drop money in
it as they passed by. As people walked by, very few left a donation,
most passed in conversation without consideration or compassion.
However, a woman paused before him, picked up his sign, turned it over
and wrote something on it. As she was doing this, the perplexed man felt
of her expensive shoes. She left without a word but immediately
people began to stop and drop coins and folded dollars into his can. At
the end of the workday the mystery woman returned and paused before
Kevin. He recognized her by the shape and feel of her shoes and he
peered up at her through sightless sockets and asked, “What did you do
to my sign?” She replied, “I wrote the same thing but with different
words.” Her words on the shabby cardboard read: “It’s a lovely day, wish I could see it too!”
Perhaps
you will cross someone’s path today who has been hearing, feeling, and
seeing the same old words and their life has gone on purposeless and
unchanged. Maybe some kindly placed words said a different way can make a difference. It may be the person you will encounter has never heard the glorious news that Jesus loves, forgives, and changes sinners. Take time to share that grand old gospel story!
Have you shared with a friend lately about BBN Radio. You can share this link on your social media sites: How to Get to Heaven. It will be a helpful witness.
