Congratulations to Mrs. Diane Swanson!
Mrs. Swanson (shown here at her computer) is a retired missionary who, alongside her husband Jay, has dedicated her life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ. She recently completed her 51st Bible course and became one of the first students to successfully complete all courses offered by the BBN Bible Institute.
Diane was a single missionary (Diane Foote) with ABWE in Chile for one term after which she and Jay were married. After the marriage, they answered the call to be missionaries under Baptist Mid-Missions to Utah to start Baptist churches. They have been there for the past thirty six years and are active retired now.
Mrs. Swanson was among the first students to enroll when the BBN Bible Institute was opened around June 1, 2006 and has not only been a faithful student applying herself diligently to her studies, but also a great help to the staff. Since she was the first student to take many courses, she found those little typographical errors and oversights and pointed them out as she pioneered her way through the curriculum.
Diane also volunteers with our BBN Chat ministry and has helped many individuals as a vital part of that ministry team.
Her recent accomplishments reminded me of the Scripture verse in 2 Timothy 2:15 that says, "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
