How To Avoid Mistakes
Solomon was truly a wise man, and his wisdom of course came from God, not himself. He was a relatively young man when God blessed him with great wisdom, yet he didn't always use that God-given wisdom as he should, and sadly in his later life, the things of the world, specifically his desire for ungodly relationships, drew him away from his walk with the Lord and his life ended on a sad note. Yet, even though all did not end well with Solomon, he did give us some inspired advice in the Book of Ecclesiastes by which we can take heed and avoid many of the mistakes he made. One of his most memorable and powerful reminders of how we should live is found in the final chapter of the Book and the first verse. There he admonishes us: "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them..." He then shares a poem of what it is like as a person ages, and how that which once brought legitimate pleasure and joy in life often dims and drifts off into shadows, leaving us with a decreased ability to enjoy them.
The BBN Bible Institute offers an entire division of study by which to benefit from Solomon's wise counsel, and that is the Teen Division of study (70000 Teen Studies), designed especially with teenagers in mind. Some of the courses of study in this division include It All Starts With A Relationship, What's So Great About God, and Pathway to Purity. We would be pleased for those facing the unique struggles of the teen years to study God's Word with us (or any adult since God's Word is for all people). As you do, share what you are freely receiving with others who need to know. May the Lord bless you as you do.
