Lost All Hope

Quite a few years ago some explorers in the Australian outback were not heard from in a while and when a search party was sent out for them, a note was found written just a few feet from an empty canteen with the words, lost all hope due to want of water. They had begun with high hopes but when their water supply ran out the letter expressed the hopelessness of their situation. The apostle Paul was a man who could have lost all hope as he was on a mission to tell all that he met about his Savior Jesus Christ, yet he was imprisoned in a Roman dungeon instead. He wrote to his colleague and friend Titus: Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ… (2:13) He realized that our hope as believers is in Christ alone and that He is coming back, according to His promises to take His church to Himself; therefore, we have a glorious hope no matter our circumstances!
