Some predicted the rapture would occur May 21, 6 PM (PST), 2011 and that Judgment of the world would begin May 22.  Obviously they were wrong!   Many unbelievers, atheists, and agnostics are really enjoying the sport of scoffing at these latest predictions.

The authoritative word is God’s.  It doesn’t matter what you or I think; it doesn’t matter what Mr. or MS scholar, theologian, or prophet says.  The words of Scripture plainly say, “Let God be true, but every man a liar.”  Paul penned in divinely inspired Scripture: “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.”  So, if a person says they know the time or date, then they are saying they know more than the Scriptures, which is a blatantly foolish position to take.

According to the Scriptures, Jesus can come at any moment, any time.  God wants us to be prepared for whatever moment that may be.  If we knew the time, we would likely procrastinate doing and believing what we should until the last moment.  Our heavenly Father wants us to walk in concert with righteousness and obedience and in anticipation of His Son’s coming, the coming Judge and King.  His timing is always perfect for His plans and actions.

When the time was right, 
God spoke our world into existence.
When the time was right, 
The walls of Jericho fell down.
When the time was right, 
The whale coughed Jonah up on dry land.
When the time was right, 
A baby was born of a virgin.
When the time was right, 
Five thousand were fed from one boy’s lunch.
When the time was right, 
Jesus calmed the raging waves.
When the time was right, 
Jesus died as God’s sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.
When the time was right,
Jesus arose from the dead, victor over death and life.
When the time was right, 
He ascended into the welcoming clouds.
When the time is right, 
Jesus will return to this earth sovereign, conquering King.
