Trouble Coming...

Trouble Coming...

A man named Judas was the half-brother of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, but interestingly enough, the Scriptures reveal to us that this man, along with our Lord’s other brothers, did not believe in Him as the Messiah from God until later on! This man Judas, not Iscariot of course, became known simply as Jude and after he came to believe in Jesus for himself, he was inspired by God to write what has become to be known as the next-to-last Book in the Bible, the epistle of Jude! Jude was led of God to teach us many excellent and amazing truths, and among them was the fact that in the last days before his elder Brother, Jesus Christ returned, there would be a proliferation of what Scripture refers to as apostates (those that have rejected the  true faith). These wicked people would teach many false and evil things, some of which Jude lays out for us in his power-packed, single-chapter epistle. Of course, as with all Scripture, Jude did not write just to satisfy man’s curiosity, but to teach us important truths for living, that we often refer to as Bible doctrine, or teaching.

Many today say doctrine should be downplayed and unity, flexibleness, and reasonableness emphasized instead. This is simply not true however, since Bible truth is so important. Jude told us right from the beginning of his epistle that though he had meant to write a friendly letter rejoicing in the salvation we all have as believers in Christ, but the Lord instead led him to write a letter commanding us to contend for the Faith! To contend actually means to agonize or even to fight for the Faith since there are so many that oppose it.

There is so much more of an essential nature that we as believers in Christ must know, and this being true, the BBN Bible Institute offers an excellent free Bible course on this epistle (Jude). Remember, Jesus came the first time, just over 2,000 years ago to save, but when He comes again, which by the way could happen at any moment, He will come to judge. Be sure to peruse this great free course out, and if you are impressed concerning the teaching of God’s Word in this powerful epistle, share the news with a friend!
