An often asked spiritual question is What about those that have never heard about Christ? Usually this question is posed by those looking for a way out of God’s righteous judgment of man, vainly hoping that this would be an unanswerable question, making it unnecessary to abide by anything found in Scripture. However, as is always the case, the Word of God does in fact have the answer to this question! Both the Old and New Testaments answer this question in a very clear and pointed way. The Psalmist says that the heavens declare the handiwork of God and that there is no language or speech where their voice is not heard. Then in the New Testament Book of Romans, Paul says that anyone that looks at God’s creation is without excuse because it is clear that there must be a creator. This is true of all people since God has put this realization into everyone’s consciousness. Hebrews 3:4 goes on to make the very simple yet profound statement that every house, or structure is built by someone, but the Maker of all things is God! Even a child recognizes this truth, but men that want to avoid God & His righteous judgment are willfully ignorant of this as Peter says.

Yet men still try to argue that this awesome universe just happened into existence without a Maker! The very remarkable nature of our universe screams to us that it has a Maker. For instance, scientists have discovered that there are actually more stars in the sky that have already been photographed than there are grains of sand in every ocean on earth! This is just one of many amazing facts of our created universe that speak of its wonderful Creator. However, our Creator is more than just a creator. He is also a Savior! He knew before any of us ever sinned that we would indeed sin and therefore need a Savior! The Bible also tells us that before the foundation of the world, Christ was slain for us as our sin offering! In other words, God saw through all of the annals of time before He ever created the world and planned for our salvation from sin from before the very beginning! How wonderful is our God and Savior, Jesus Christ!

The BBN BI student has the unique opportunity to study these fascinating facts regarding our wonderful God in a tremendous course offered in the BBN BI called Understanding Creation as taught by Dr. John Whitcomb. This is course number 50800 in the Electives Division of BI courses. As with all of our courses, the material here is not primarily just for our knowledge and enjoyment, though this is a valid part of Bible study. The main reason we offer this course and all of the courses in the BI is to get the Word of God into the students’ heart and life and to help us to grow into more Christlikeness as a result of meditating on the Word of God.
