BBN-Net News
August 19, 2005 Volume 9, Number 33
BBN-English
We are glad to report that the Fort Smith, Arkansas translator has been reconstructed at 89.3 FM. We are now back on the air, as of Monday, broadcasting into that part of Arkansas at 125 watts. This outlet was forced off the air by another full class station but we were allowed to relocate on another frequency. We will also be putting more new outlets on the air.
BBN-Spanish
Pray that God would protect our radio stations on our Spanish network. We need His protection from those who would steal or damage them and we need His intervention where governments may want to restrict our proclamation of the Gospel.
BBN-Brazil
Pray that God would continue to bless the outreach in Brazil and that God would open more doors by allowing us to locate radio stations that are available for purchase.
BBN-Chinese
The Taiwan Adolescents Choir visited BBN this week and sang in our Staff Chapel. What a blessing to here Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus sung in Chinese by this group of teens. They also sang another Chinese hymns. These young people have all been abandoned by their parents and have been raised in a Christian group home founded by a Chinese Pastor. The last time they visited BBN, they were the Taiwan Children Choir. Pray for this group as they tour the USA.
BBN-Japanese
A second email came from a listener who made a decision to accept Christ last week through BBN-Japanese. “I live in Atlanta, Georgia, and while doing business for 15 days, I am staying in Shanghai, China. I have a Chinese Christian girlfriend who lives in Shanghai, and goes to Shanghai Lin Wong Church. I want to be baptized, and then marry my girlfriend and study the Bible with her. I cannot speak English or Chinese, so can you recommend a Japanese church in Shanghai to me? Can you also advise me on the steps towards baptism?” (We made the suggestion that he study the book on the website, “What the Bible Teaches.”)
Another listener’s mail: “One year ago, during a time when I was depressed, I was introduced to the BBN-Japanese by a Christian sister who lives in Shanghai. I thank the Lord and am praising Him now.
BBN-Korean
We have more spiritual questions from BBN-Korean web site. We are grateful to the Lord that the BBN-Korean ministry can help them. Here is a spiritual question from the web site: “I am put forth an effort to have a religion but I am still wandering because I do not know which one is true. Recently I had a Bible study with Jehovah’s Witnesses once a week for 2 years. But I am not sure about them because people around me had doubts about them. I have never been to a church but it would be same with others or so-so, I guess. I like Jehovah’s Witness’ Bible study even though I never go to their church, but at the same time I am concerned about their negative reputation. I am really hesitating, which religion should I believe? Do you have any answer to give me an assurance?” We shared Gospel and recommended biblical churches close to his area.
BBN-German
We get emails from around the world in all our webcasts. Here is one to our German ministry from Latin America. “Hello my name is Carmen. I am living in Guatemala and speak Spanish. I don’t understand much about the German language, but I like very much the evangelical songs I hear. I always fell blessed when I listen to your BBN-Internet Radio and I do recognize many of the songs you are playing. God bless you. I pray that would God blesses you a lot.”
BBN-Russian
Because of the education system, most people in Russia think that God does not exist. In many cases you have to start a conversation with the person by asking, “Do you believe that God exists?” Last week we sent to our listeners our Russian email newsletter and we added the small article from the “Voice” entitled, “Does God Really Exist?” We got some responses, just short notes thanking us for interesting illustration. Jesus used lots of parables to show the truth to people. Pray for the Russian people that God will give us more wisdom to teach our listeners to go to the world to share the Gospel and not be afraid to face opposition.
Our listeners continue to say it best:
From Zolfo Springs, FL:
I am so thankful for your programs. I love them all and especially your music and Dr. Jeremiah, Dr. Zacharias, Dr. McGee, the Captain’s Club, and Conference Pulpit. My husband introduced me to your radio station. He always had it on in his shop, and when I got cancer in my spine and was left a paraplegic he turned it on in our bedroom. What a blessing and comfort you have been to me! It was particularly helpful when my husband died unexpectantly. God has since healed me of my cancer and I can now walk with arm canes, which my doctors told me would never happen.
From Bismarck, ND:
We enjoy BBN so much. I work at a hospital psychiatric center. I am not good with words, but a lot of times all I can do is give a patient a radio tuned to BBN, and tell them to listen. One patient I had not seen for one year told me he remembered my giving him the radio and he listens to BBN every evening to go to sleep. My twenty-two-old son listens to BBN all the time.
From Iraq:
Thanks, do you have posters? (Especially for the Internet) I am in Iraq and would like to have some. I have made my own posters and put them up. If you have some posters I sure could use them.
From Lexington, NC:
Your station is such a blessing to us! We can't imagine a day without it. It provides an abundance of spiritual food. Our prayers are with you for the wonderful work. May God give you strength for your labor. Thanks again!
From Fort Smith, AR:
We are so glad that BBN is back on the air in Fort Smith. I will get in touch with several churches for their newsletters.
From Charlottesville, VA:
I sure have enjoyed listening to BBN every day. I just don't know what we would do without it. It is just like having a good friend right in the house with us all of the time.
From Rayville, LA:
I like to go to garage sales and give out ITL cards. I love your radio station and appreciate the stand you take on the music and teaching. Thanks so much. You are reaching people with the good news of Christ. Love in Christ.
From Lake Wales, FL:
Thanks for the pure spiritual food you dish out to your listeners. I hear you on Internet, too.
From Hillsborough, NC:
I received the book by Brother Lucarini yesterday. Read it all in the last 24 hours because I could not put it down. It is a great resource. Very timely and not suprising that this is a subject that is always confronting you. I pray for you regularly. Lord bless you and my His face shine upon you. Psalm 80.3 and 80.7
Thanks from BBN, BBN-B, BBN-S, BBN-Chinese, BBN-Japanese, BBN-Korean, BBN-German & BBN-Russian
